Paper Crafts and Ideas

Paper Crafts for all Seasons and Holidays Such as Easter, Mother’s Day, 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas

Paper is probably the most versatile and universal material available. We are confronted daily with it. Maybe it is the newspaper we read in the morning, the box holding the cereal we eat, the bill that arrives in the mail, the catalog with the pretty new dress we would like to order or the book on our bedside table. These things are necessary in our lives but do not show the creative potential of paper.

This website will be dedicated to showing that paper is more than just pratical. It can be so decorative and fun to use. Within time, the site will continue to grow and some projects will have a step-by-step tutorial with pictures to make them easy for children to understand as well.

In craft or paper stores, you can find a large supply of different papers that can be used for the projects. But not all of us have a craft store around the corner and not all products are available at all places. That is no problem. Be creative and flexible. The material list for each project is just a suggestion. You can get a totally new and maybe even better look if you change the type or color of paper. Try working with other embellishments. You may be astounded at the results.

Fall Paper Crafts

Fall motifs reflect the colors of the changing trees and will give your home a warm atmosphere, even when the air outside is cool. Find paper crafts in this section with typical fall and Halloween motifs such as pumpkins, leaves, scarecrows or apples. If you have children, they will have so much fun helping you.

Tags can be created sophisticated or as simple as necessary to fit the look you like. Find here examples of tags using different types of paper and decorating elements. New tags will be added on a regular basis.

Here you will also find a selection of gift tags to print out. Print the tags out to the size of your paper or cardstock, cut and use.

Artist Trading Cards

Artist Trading Cards
Artist Trading Cards or otherwise known as ATC’s are created in the size of 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches or 64 x 89 millimeters (6.4 x 8.9 centimeters). These are small and self-made miniature works of art. Other than the size, there are no particular rules to follow. Combine different materials and elements to create unique and one of a kind cards. Sign, number and date the backs of your cards. These cards are not meant to be sold but if you like, there are groups that trade and collect these cards. You can find them on the internet in different craft forums.

More ATC’s will be added regularily for more inspiration.

Rainy Day Crafts

Rainy Day Paper Crafts for Kids
Already at a young age, children love to make things and work with their hands. It is not easy for them at the beginning to cut with the scissors or draw a straight line, but it is amazing what those little hands can still do. With practice and within time, the child’s skills will improve. Encourage the child to craft as often as possible. With each finished project, the sense of accomplishment is so positive and the child will continue to enjoy crafting for years to come and develop its own creative ideas.

How to Make Patterns

How to Make Patterns and Permanent Templates
You need patterns and templates mainly for sewing crafts, wood crafts and paper crafts. Creating permanent templates is easy and has a couple of advantages. First, if you wish to create the same project more than once you will save a lot of time because the template is already prepared. And second, if you are working with a group, the templates are durable and can be easily passed along to the next person. Permanent templates are especially useful when making crafts with children.

Some Paper Crafting Tips

Helpful is to keep certain items that may be of use. For example, save old cards, calender pages, pretty pictures found in magazines or catalogues, music sheets, old letters with pretty or interesting writing, maps, wrapping paper, stamps, stickers, labels, paper napkins with designs, seed packages, etc..... almost anything out of paper can be used and recycled again into something new and beautiful. You will also discover that even the smallest bits of paper can be priceless.

Sometimes the greatest things can happen by accident and the old John Ashcroft saying that necessity is the mother of invention can come true. Your creativity has no limits. More here >>>
